Murakami x Brooklyn = ?
Saturday, April 26th, 2008
Yesterday, like many days, I happened to be in New York City, so I stopped by the Takahashi Murakami exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum. All hypebeastery and Kanye-West-inspired-hipster-ness aside, I’ve been a fan of this guy even prior to the Louis Vuitton collaboration (remember these?) back in 2003 when I was pushing Canal Street replicas to everyone & their mother down south (by the way, I’m not sorry Mr. Arnault).
If you’re in New York between now and July 13 (and perhaps a fan of Japanese pop art, as well) be sure to head over to 200 Eastern Parkway. Enjoy the few flicks I was able to take covertly behind the backs of the seemingly ever-present security team. More after the jump!
P.S. - Special shouts to Zeeny (no typo) for letting me know about this one :] You’re 1 for 1!
